OpenTrons and Project Pitches

This week, BIOME was thrilled to host two of the founders of OpenTrons, Will Canine and Chiu Chau, for dinner in Palo Alto with 8 of our BIOME students (pictured above). We discussed everything from the DIY Bio movement to open access in sciences to startup business models. Thank you to all who participated and planned the event–and a special thank you to our special guests.

We’re currently gathering project headlines to share student ideas with faculty and administrators. Got an idea? Take 1 minute to fill out this form ( with the project name, one-sentence description, and how many students you’ll need (yourself included). Never been to a BIOME meeting? Not a problem!

Stay tuned for more updates in the near future!
